Jen was first drawn to Pilates as a teenager living in Toledo, Ohio, but it was only after she realized her corporate sales job moving her to Metro Detroit, Michigan area was taking a drastic toll on her health that she decided to pursue a full-time career in fitness. Years spent working a sedentary job left Jen struggling with her own wellness. Pilates, along with a commitment to eating whole, natural foods, helped Jen reclaim her health and strength. Now making her home in the Phoenix area, Jen believes in achieving wellness from the inside out to strengthen the body and maintain overall health. • Jeni Austin

    Pilates Instructor

Originally from Minneapolis, Mn., Jeni studied dance and theater when at 16yrs old a routine checkup showed a slight curvature in her spine so her doctors decided to fuse her thoracic spine with a titanium rod for prevention of scoliosis. It wasn't until 20 years later she discovered Pilates. Finally an exercise program that didn't limit her because her lack of flexion in her spine. In fact, It was the first time since her younger years she felt as good as she did when she was a dancer. So she decided to become a Pilates Trainer with Pilates Sport Center in Studio City CA. When she moved to Phoenix she deepened her Pilates knowledge by working alongside Chiropractors, PT, massage therapists, and Natural-paths in a rehab setting. Jeni is inspired everyday by people she has met and trained. To be a part of someone’s transformation to a healthier, better body, and to help them reach their goals and have a greater awareness about their body that transcends to their day to day lives is the best reward around! And Club Pilates is the perfect place to do it! I believe working out should be fun and not a chore. With Club Pilates there are so many levels and styles and progressive evolution to the practice you can do it for a lifetime. Whether you are a student or a teacher you can always discover new ways to move, and learn, and in so doing, learn new things about yourself in the process! Something fun about me: I'm a goofball and still a thespian at heart. Any chance I can dress up, like Halloween or Renaissance I'm there! And you don't have to ask me twice to sing karaoke. Even if I don't really know the song.

  • Carrie Koel

    Pilates Instructor

Hi my name is Carrie Koel and I recently relocated from Scottsdale from the Bay Area. Originally from California, became a licensed Pilates instructor after my son suffered a low back injury in baseball. After a full year of physical therapy, x-rays, and MRI's with no answers to his back pain, we finally resorted to private Pilates sessions and "Voila" ... we found the answer! Basically, it was SI join dysfunction from being out of alignment and poor flexibility. I became so fascinated by the amazing benefits of Pilates, I wanted to learn more and teach others ways to avoid injury, maintain alignment/balance, build strength and gain flexibility to keep doing the sport/activities they love. "Deep breaths are little love notes to your body" ....
